Two reasons to celebrate. First, the World Environment Center (WEC) awarded Volkswagen their gold medal for sustainable development and environmentally conscious business practices. What’s more, the Center of Automotive Management (CAM) presented
its AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award to Volkswagen in the  category of Most Innovative Automotive Company.

Solid and steady growth that benefits everyone: customers, investors and society as well as employees. That is the orientation of the Volkswagen Group’s corporate policy, and it has proved successful. In 2013, the energy consumption per vehicle produced dropped 12.5 percent compared to the reference year 2010, and CO2 emissions were 19.5 percent lower. The ecological programme Think Blue. Factory. is a major success. Three years after its launch, plants worldwide have made their production 17.1 percent greener overall. Of 3,400 measures planned for completion by 2018, 1,800 have already been implemented. The results were published just prior to World Environment Day organised by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
